General Information
Our readers are women (and some wonderful men) from their early 30's to 100, the majority of them from 40 to 80. Some come from New Age backgrounds, others are much more traditional. What we all have in common is a commitment to conscious aging, which includes transforming the derogatory meaning of the word "Crone". If you feel this kind of commitment yourself, then we welcome your contributions to the Crone Chronicles. Most of each issue is created from readers' contributions, so your willingness to share is vital to this journal!

Crone Chronicles is geared mainly towards women. However, we do not wish to limit our readers to women, nor to assume that men are excluded from the wisdom of Crone. Indeed, on an archetypal level, we assume that as each woman includes male and female elders within her, so does each man. With that understanding, both men and women are welcome to submit to this journal for possible publication.

The following guidelines may help you gear your submission to the context of Crone Chronicles.

Subject Matter
All submissions - whether written or artistic - should focus in some way on issues relating to the aging process itself or to perceptions of any subject which are altered or filtered through the process of "growing older". What we are looking for is the expression of "one's own unique Crone point of view". In other words, we wish to publish the wisdom you have gained from your experience, and strongly prefer submissions which are either written entirely from a personal point of view, or at least include personal experience as an example of what is being talked about. Thus, most of what we publish is non-fiction. Fiction and myth will be considered, but only as they are particularly relevant to Crone.

Written Submissions
All written submissions should be the original work of the author. As a web-based magazine, we strongly prefer that all submissions be made by email. Items submitted in other ways may be delayed or ignored. Articles should be no more than 1000 words in length. Please include your name, address and phone number. Please be clear about the name under which you wish us to publish your material if we decide to use it.

We do edit for clarity, grammar, and sometimes for length. If you do not want your article edited in any way, please type "Do not edit" at the top of the manuscript clearly and in large letters. We will respect your wishes; however you should be aware that we are far less likely to publish manuscripts so marked.

Please include the article in the body of the email and NOT as an attached file. Apart from your name and contact information, please also tell us something about yourself when you email us. Accompanying artwork and photos are welcome. See guidelines below.

Writers: here is your chance to tell your stories! Personal essays, reviews, journal entries, dreams, jokes, cartoons, asides - all are welcome. Crone Chronicles is here to help document and report on the Crone archetype as she resurrects Herself from within the ashes of the patriarchal culture.

Graphic Art
All graphic art submissions should be the original work of the artist.

For the web issue, please submit your artwork in RGB JPEG format. If your artwork is line art, please also simultaneously submit a copy in GIF (89a) format with a transparent background. Graphic artwork can be in any size or dimensions in pixels. However, please ensure that the file you send is no larger than 100k. Should we decide to publish your artwork, we reserve the right to crop the image or alter its size. The resolution should be 72 dpi. If this is unacceptable to you, please state clearly at the time of submission.

Photography
All photographic submissions should be the original work of the photographer. If persons other than the photographer are shown, a signed release from said person(s) must be included in order for us to publish the photo. We are especially interested in photos of old women whose beauty of character shows in their faces and bodies; also in subject matter which is reminds us in some way of Crone. (For example, old trees, plants in their winter appearance, crossroads, gateways, etc.)

For the web issue, please submit your photos in RGB JPEG format Your photos can be in any size or dimensions in pixels, but the resolution should be screen resolution of 72 dpi. However, please ensure that the file you send is no larger than 100k. Should we decide to publish your artwork, we reserve the right to crop the image or alter its size. If this is unacceptable to you, please state clearly at the time of submission.
